Functional workplace: placement secrets

It’s no secret that a studio apartment forces its owners to use their imagination to the full, inventing many options for increasing the space and functionality of the living space. Sometimes it happens that you have to neglect any of the zones, for example, a bedroom, or a workplace. What to do if without it nowhere? How to fit the workplace in a limited space?

The first thing we have to do is choose the right place where the work zone will be located. There are several options for "economical" placement of the workspace:

  • near the window;
  • in the closet;
  • on the balcony;
  • between cabinets and other openings, in the corner;
  • separation of zones by partitions.

Placing a workplace by the window gives you a natural light source. This is a huge advantage, as daylight does not harm your vision. As a working tabletop, you can use the window sill. It allows you to place on yourself not only a computer, but also a large number of small things and shelves in which it is so convenient to store documents.

You can place your desk on the balcony, provided that the balcony is insulated, or the living space has been expanded with a balcony. This option is also good because it allows you to work in daylight without using additional light sources. Partitions turn the desktop into a full-fledged cabinet, where no one will distract you from work.

The most non-standard way of placing the workspace is the wardrobe. You will not only be able to hide your workplace from the eyes of outsiders, but also hide office trifles, which make the room design less concise. The essential advantage of this option is that you can create your own Narnia from the desktop, especially if you are a creative person. This decision will especially emphasize the design of your apartment.

All the flaws in the layout of the apartment can be turned into advantages. Position the work area in niches or corners that you cannot think of worthy use. Putting a small desktop there, you will kill two birds with one stone - save space, and select another functional area. The main thing in this case is to think over the lighting, the storage system and to choose the right working chair.

The easiest way to allocate a work area in an apartment is to mark a full-fledged zone by highlighting it with partitions. You can also use the desktop as the separator between zones. This way you can separate other important areas, such as the kitchen, or the bedroom.
